World Cup Africa
Today we have a significant day for one country and one continent. A country who was ravished from apartheid is now holding the World Cup competition as a nation more united than ever before. The smiling faces of those partaking in the opening ceremony from the dancers to the crowd one could sense even from watching the television that they are proud. Now South Africa still has trouble with racial tensions, however it is has come a long way. It is important that we don't see the country as it once was, but as it is now. The World Cup wont be the miracle elixir for the country it has a long way to go, but from the lowest paid person to the highest its a chance to celebrate together. I hope the world cup profits wont just end up with those with power and money and it gets reinvested into the poorer communities. Let the fun begin for all countries and lets us forget just for 90 minutes our personal problems.
